Excellent software is almost indistinguishable from Autocad, and I don't have the annual subscriptions and additional cost of Autocad. Very happy with the software to date

General Review
Many years ago, I used Autocad. I moved away from Dxf-based work into solid modeling; however, I have recently been working with plans that require dxf/dwg files. ActCAD is a charming piece of software. It works like AutoCAD and others, whereby you type in commands, etc. The software for building plans is friendly and straightforward, with the ability to edit solid shapes, walls, windows, doors, etc. It is slowly becoming my go-to software for starting jobs. I hope that the 2d drawing side of it updates in the coming years, as it uses the flat shot type system, which is acceptable for the most part but challenging to modify views after flattening them. This is the same for other dwg-based softwares as well. The support is excellent; I recently purchased an upgrade and got emails saying everything is in hand, and product keys will be sent out shortly; this is nice. There is nothing worse than investing in some software and not hearing anything!

Good Software that does the job
I have been using ActCAD for about 4-5 years, and it's done everything I need. Having been an AutoCAD user since 1986, I switched because the cost of AutoCAD because too high, and I didn't need all the functions they included. It didn't take long to adjust to the menus and commands because they are similar or the same as AutoCAD. If you have never used that program, ActCAD will be even faster to learn. The learning curve is not steep for standard drawing functions. The price is excellent for the quality of the product and what it will do for your business or needs. Tech support is exemplary, but it does take a day or so to get back to you, so don't expect instant help. AutoCAD generally does everything for everyday needs, although the menus are laid out differently. I don't use every function or command, so I can't say it's all perfect, but since everything else works well, I would suspect all parts work as expected. I have never regretted purchasing this product and using it (with separate licenses) on three computers.

What do you like best about ActCAD?
Ease of use. Good transition from AutoCAD.
What do you dislike about ActCAD?
Had some difficulty getting the license transfer (from one computer to another) to work, and tech support could not solve the problem. I would suggest allowing it to be used on two computers (one at a time) like many companies do, rather than go through the cumbersome license transfer process.
What features is ActCAD currently missing?
No missing features in my experience.
What other products like ActCAD have you used or evaluated?
AutoCAD is the only other serious CAD program I have used.
How ActCAD is better/different from its competitors?
I can't say it's better, but it is compatible and very similar to others, so it gets the job done.
