Szabolcs-Herman Expert Interview

SabeeApp provides great tools to hospitality industry no matter how small or big your business is. Szabolcs Herman – CEO of SabeeApp, believes that the hospitality industry is built on the idea to create homely environment and it should not be about managing Administration all the time. That’s why SabeeApp comes with features like Front Desk System, Hotel booking Engine, Hotel Payment Gateway, and many more to make your hotel administration far too easy.

In this Interview, we catch up with the very interesting take from the CEO at SabeeApp – Szabolcs Herman.

Q1) What according to you are the four pillars on which SabeeApp stands upon?

  1. Issue solving of the Product
  2. Excellent customer support
  3. Customer intimacy
  4. Continuous Innovation

Q2) How did you hit upon the idea for your Company?

The idea was based on our own demands. Back then, I used to operate an apartment house in the heart of Budapest, and we wanted a solution which can help us automatise our administration and sales procedures. So, we first built SabeeApp for our own. Then friends who were operating hotels approached to use it as well. This was the point where I decided to launch SabeeApp for a wider audience.

Q3) How do you differentiate yourself from your competitors?

There are two main factors that differentiate SabeeApp from its competitors.

We built 3 products in one: PMS (Front Desk), Channel Manager and Booking Engine. These 3 products are working very smoothly together.

The other factor is the Innovation: We didn’t only build a software, but it’s more like a service. With the help of our development team we continuously improve our service and try to be ahead of our competitors.

Q4) How has sales evolved since you first got into the business? What hasn’t changed?

We are continuously reviewing our Customer Journey Process and we experiment a lot. When we first started with direct sales, it wasn’t converting well compared to those who are registering online on our website. So, we decided to leave the direct sales and focus more on marketing and search engines. The conversion of these channels are way higher because the customers who are landing on our site already demand the product. We recently organised many workshops to train people, and for now it seems like it is working very well. Again a continuous review of what we are doing and improvement takes us further.

Q5) Would you rather be respected or feared?

To be feared was not, and never will be my strategy. I am trying to share knowledge and motivate people, I think that leads to be respected. This is how I have worked since the beginning,

Q6) Think of something you’ve done in the past; what would you have done differently?

We have lost one of our colleagues a year ago. I was busy with many responsibilities, and did not pay attention on his issue. I would do it differently today. Our colleague went to work for some other organization, so one of my eyes was crying because we lost him. But on the other hand, I was happy  that we could give knowledge to him, and other organization found it useful.

Q7) How do you approach a decision where people disagree with you?

It’s a very generic question, but I generally like to listen to my colleagues and I trust them. So, when they don’t agree with me, there must be a reason.

Q8) What do you expect to see over the next 5 to 10 years in the Industry?

To have ZERO administration in a hotel would be a dream. But that seems a little difficult to happen. We will be working hard to handle the administration of a hotel as much as possible.

Q9) What are your experiences with highs and lows at SabeeApp?

The very important factor of a successful company is a great team. A great team can help you survive crisis, and to be glad together on company highs.

Lastly, we would be glad to have your valuable suggestion for the new age Entrepreneurs coming up in the industry today.

The only suggestion I would give to new age entrepreneurs is that – Don’t stay too much on a decision. Take you decisions fast and start to realise your dreams.
