Managing and maintaining different business units simultaneously is something that all organizational heads have to deal with, but none of them like. Not only do maintenance and management tasks require significant headspace, but they also slow you down and take away precious company time from you. This is why organizational heads are looking to automate their maintenance and management processes using technology, and reduce their stress, workload and distractions.

The past decade witnessed the birth of Computerized Maintenance and Management Software (CMMS) for manufacturing and production-oriented industries which significantly improved the accuracy and efficiency of their processes. However, there were many industries that were left behind during this revolution, who still had to use pen and paper to manage their maintenance records.

Thankfully, a company called Maxpanda came to their rescue with all-in-one CMMS solutions for a variety of industries like healthcare, construction, hospitality, education, etc. Maxpanda’s SaaS solution quickly became popular due to their advanced functionalities, flexibility, affordability, and user-friendliness. Moreover, since there was no software installation and paperwork needed, it helped many organizations manage their inventory and assets remotely during the pandemic, earning the brand some great praise.

We are fortunate to have interviewed Mr. Steven Kyriakidis, the co-founder of Maxpanda, and learn about his journey so far and plans for the future.

Interview with Mr. Steven Kyriakidis, Co-Founder of Maxpanda

Here’s an excerpt from the interview:

A warm welcome from SoftwareSuggest Mr. Steven Kyriakidis. Our readers are keen to know about you. Tell us about your journey so far.

My I.T. journey had begun in 1998 when I moved to Montreal Quebec to join the development team at Conceptis Technologies. Working with an amazing group of people for 2 years there opened my eyes to amazing ways you can use the internet to actually create world-class companies. 6 years later my wife and I had our 1st baby and she eventually forced us to move back to Winnipeg Manitoba in order to be close to the grandparents.

Having built up experience with web technologies I decided to partner up with my brother-in-law and design a new way of managing maintenance tasks – Maxpanda was born. 17 years later we are still improving the way users do things using the internet and it’s been an amazing journey that will be passed onto our children.

What is your success formula? Something you have followed personally that has helped you in your personal and professional journey

Hire the best. Never settle. Get tons of sleep.

What is the biggest challenge that you are facing while working towards Maxpanda’s growth and how did you overcome it?

Marketing is always a challenge since our software’s primary users are on the maintenance side of all organizations. These people typically are not the most tech-savvy users but I have seen a real turnaround in thinking towards maintenance management systems over the last 5 years. The younger maintenance staff coming in are much more open to using smartphones to manage their maintenance requests and preventative maintenance.

Tell us more about Maxpanda and what separates Maxpanda from its competitors?

When I decided to design Maxpanda CMMS I had many things in mind. It had to be set up by the end-user and at the lowest monthly cost possible. Most other CMMS require a large setup fee to import existing asset/building data. They also need a lot of training. With MAXPANDA CMMS that is not the case. It has a $0 setup cost, unlimited users, and absolutely no training required for anyone.

How do you see the company changing in two years, and how do you see yourself creating that change?

With Maxpanda CMMS your data and communication is through your smartphone while never having to touch anyone’s paper. This has driven our growth exponentially in the past 2 years and we see huge traction moving forward. Maxpanda CMMS not only is seeing an increase in new customer signups but a higher rate of retention.

How has Covid-19 impacted your business, and what is your strategy moving forward in the new normal?

The covid-19 pandemic has unfortunately played a big part in our growth in the past 2 years. People are seeing the need for touchless information. The days of paper notes, spreadsheets, and missed calls are done.

What new and exciting updates can we expect from Maxpanda in the near future?

We update Maxpanda weekly. Our customers new and old continuously send us their ideas on how to better use and optimize certain modules. This direct feedback from our base had created an amazing driving force in our quest for success!
