Give us a snapshot of your professional journey till now.

Ans. It has been an incredible journey so far; We at Sales Maestroz have been able to maintain 100% growth rate year on year basis for the 3rd consecutive year. Especially November 2017 has been a milestone month for us at Sales Maestroz. Last month we acquired 18 new clients in Pharma, FMCG, White Goods & Medical Research domains, taking our tally to 150. Currently, we are servicing more than 5000 active user’s (5086 to be precise) courtesy the new clients added last month. We have also added office at Kolkata, and very soon we are going to set up our offices in Chennai and Mumbai.

What inspired you to build Sales Maestroz? What made you think that there was a need for something like Sales Maestroz?

Ans. In my 20 years career span, I worked in different Industries and different capacities, my observation is that there has always been a lack of transparency in terms of business performance.  Over-reliance on the MIS team, which worked on excel like a pied piper playing to the tunes of management.  It became a punishing or rewarding tool, any review and the MIS team gets underway to create a report, to save one’s deficiency or inefficiency, no question asked and no answers sought. To a large extent, it resulted in nepotism, encouraged a culture of yesmanship.

The organization should work on a platform where vital parameters of business are available right from foot soldiers to the top management on a real-time basis. Everyone works on the same data, so no different interpretation of data for the different person. All reports are taken out from the same system; while everyone knows what is expected out of him, sacrosanct expectation setting.

This will bring about a big change in the way our companies are working in India and to help bring about that change is our vision and was the necessity for the creation of Sales Maestroz.

Tell me about a time when you faced some sort of overwhelming challenge at work and how you overcame it.

Ans. We’ve Put our heart n soul into creating this product without any external financial support, Loans etc. Creating a mammoth SFA takes own sweet time and everything comes at a cost. It took almost 13 months to get a final shape of our software, without a single penny of revenue…We bled. We had to sell our car, flat to be able to sustain the cost. Even the friend and relatives deserted us but our belief in our product, our team and ourselves kept us going. Now we have come a long way, Especially would like to mention my teammates Virendra & Dev, who along with me have stood together and faced all the rough weather together. A few line which keeps our morale high.

We had plenty of interaction with VC companies for funding, but their fundas never matched ours. They had their fixed terminologies, set business pattern and projection. They love and like to be associated with the fancy and unrealistic business proposition rather than a sustainable business product and model.

Which software do you use the most and would like to recommend as well?

Ans. I am an old school thought, so still believe in taking notes and writing diaries but having said that mobile calendar and our own lead management Software “Sales Fox” helps me keep my work schedule tidy and up-to-date.

What’s the most important thing you’re working on right now, and how are you making it happen?

Ans. We are working on billing software and mobile application based learning management system. Both are going to be the game changer.

What will the company look like in 3-5 years, if things go according to plan?

Ans. We have set ourselves a very stiff and challenging target as below

  • Maintain our 100% growth rate annually in revenue & new client acquisition.
  • Expand business horizon globally & 50% overseas billing contribution.
  • New Product & Launches i.e. Billing Software and Mobile Application Based Interactive Training Solution – “MABITSA” and a significant revenue contribution from them

If you get a chance to start your career again what would you do differently this time?

Ans. I would create Sales Maestroz first and then start my journey.
