Though there has been a steep rise in the number of tech startups, only a fraction of them have been successful. This is mainly because startups face a unique set of challenges while establishing a business model and lack the necessary tools to streamline their operations.

Today, only a handful of companies cater to the unique needs of startups and help them in their struggles. Walkover is one such organization that specializes in creating tools specifically for startups. The company kickstarted its journey with a cloud messaging service called MSG91, and quickly followed it up with Giddh, an accounting management software for startups, both of which have been praised highly.

We are fortunate to have interviewed Mr. Shubhendra Agrawal, the CEO & Co-founder of Walkover, and getting a chance to know about his mission, vision, and journey so far.

In Conversation with Mr. Shubhendra Agrawal, CEO & Co-founder of Walkover

Here’s an excerpt from the interview:

Firstly, a warm welcome from Software Suggest Mr. Shubhendra; our readers are eager to know about your’s & Walkover’s journey so far. So tell us, how did it all start?

We are a bunch of geeks with a passion for technology who came together to pursue a common dream- to start an organization. We had different expertise, which expanded our point of view holistically. One of us was a marketing buff, one nerd, and I, of course, was a finance worm. We tried many things initially in which we learned a lot, succeeded several times, but we kept moving. This is how the name Walkover struck us. Be it a success or learning, simply Walkover!

Prompt communication was the need of the hour to maintain business relations. From a few foreign trips to working day and night, we finally got the knack of it. The market needed a robust and secure system for it. This was when we launched our pioneer product MSG91. It hit the nail right on the head. The product picked pace quite fast, and to meet the demand of the market, we needed to expand our team. This is how we are now a family of 150+ spartans working together in Walkover towards innovation. We recently launched another revolutionary product, Giddh. We believe this will redefine the accounting sphere in India especially.

What prompted your venture into the Technology space?

I am an engineer by choice, and technology has always been my driving force. I would not have done anything else other than this. Practically if you see, there is no sector untouched with technology. It is the future. Why not then?

How has Walkover equipped itself to deal with the Covid-19 situation better?

We are doing pretty well in COVID scenes. Till date, we have no positive cases in our company. People are working remotely, although we can work from the office also for people who don’t have the required infrastructure to work from home. We take care of their complete safety by taking all the measures mentioned by WHO.

What advice do you have for millennials starting out as Engineers?

Be a genuine Engineer. Study hard, and the curriculum is outstanding. Explore the World and innovate new products.

What are the 3 lessons that you need to remember to make it big in this industry?

3 basics that I follow are – Understand the need of the hour, think the customer way, and be outstanding in whatever you do.

What new developments can users expect from your product in the coming years?

We are in a business where we develop new things regularly. In the near future, there are a few things lined up like Combo, Job Work, Branch hierarchy, Fixed asset register, Bank Import, etc.

What is your success mantra? Something you have followed personally that has helped you in your journey.

Work hard when working, and then party harder!

What would you advise and suggest to the young entrepreneurs and other aspirants in the industry?
