Blender has a low learning curve, and it is very easy to work with. If stuck, there are tons of videos to help you out. The community is great and really helpful. Finally, it is open source, so it is free, and you can even contribute to the software.

Cons
Blender has so many shortcuts, so you have to learn all of them to use it. It also has problems with rendering. If you are making a movie, then it will be very complicated since you are using open community software, it has some downfalls.
