GnuCash Pros and Cons

"Has lots of 'features', but that alone is not the whole story."

"gnuCash is difficult to install as it asks questions I have no answer and the online documentation says little or nothing. The user interface is terrible - something out of the 90's. The reports are counter intuitive and don't look very good. There is no home page that gives on the total view of their finances."

gnuCash

This is a program that is technically competent, but is too difficult to use. It needs a lot of improvements, but I don't see that happening. Best to shell out some $$ and get a well supported/documented commercial application. Life is too short to spend a lot of time on software just because it is free.
