JobAdder Pros and Cons

"Price is lower than competition for low number of users"

"Easy to use"

"The platform offers next to none automation in an outdated and byzantine UI that ultimately fails to deliver the array of functions that were sold. The product is pretty fragmented with different features poorly integrated in the dashboard under a maze of menu options. Integrations don't always work as advertised because they don't maintain the same tech stack in all countries/servers."

"Value for money is poor compared to competitors"

Shiny when sold, terrible when in use

At the sales stage, Jobadder seemed to tick all the boxes. Seemed one step ahead in terms of integrations and providing a comprehensive array of features that fit our needs. Once we used it, it was a terrible, painful experience. We sincerely regret choosing Jobadder, and despite investing an additional $ in the top setup package, we will now be looking to move to a different ATS after only six months. We strongly suggest you look carefully into how each feature you care about works because it will likely work differently than you expect. In detail, this is why we think this has been a terrible choice for us: 1) There is no automation. Yes, there are email templates, yes, there are contracts embedded through hello sign, etc., but a human must trigger everything. Moving candidates, sending the email, etc. Nothing can be automated to a level we would have expected in 2022. Auto rejection email? Move candidates to the rejection stage, select all candidates, select action, select email, and repeat every day of your life. 2) Jobadder is not the same product in all markets. Some features may or may not be available in the country you choose to put your data on. It's bizarre. 3) We got sold a product that should integrate with Aircall. We must record voice interactions as part of the candidate note, which did all we needed. Aircall integration is left, right, and center everywhere. Could not get it to integrate correctly. Took five months of tickets for support to come back with the fact that no, in our server, this would not work because they won't invest in the tech stack. Five months wasted. We then asked to migrate our data to a different country/server and got quoted $3,000 to make it. Because yes, not only we did do false advertising and take five months to figure it out, but migrating from JA to JA is ultra-complicated, and we won't do it for free to remedy our issues and our own choices. 4) The system is byzantine, and the interface is as intuitive as a 1999 website. The menu is named in the least intuitive way possible. You can set up a million things that tend to be rather useless (there's gotta be at least seven menus to set up offices and phone numbers). You need to open a ticket to set up anything that should be in your control (e.g., a job board to display specific jobs on your website) 5) The system is relatively slow. Always a few seconds for any action. It adds up. 6) The help articles are essential and do not always provide all the information needed. If you are set up as a recruiting agency or corporate the same menu items may be called different things, and the help article does not say this. Again, have to open tickets. 7) The support is average. I feel they tend to deal with the "please reset you computer and try again" type of users, so it always takes forever to identify the issues and get an actual reply. 8) They are lagging in Indeed Apply, which allows posting qualifying questions. Took ten back and forth with support so they could understand what we were talking about for them to just say to go to a page to suggest a new feature. Sent, never received acknowledgment or reply. 9) Some features like Hiring Manager or Career Update feel like different products that are poorly integrated with the public dashboard and product 10) The reporting section seems 10+ years old. You get access to canned reports with little or no customization allowed (the "Create a new report" is very limited in record types). I understand they have a separate (of course, point 9) product that reports better and "uses data of jobadder." You can get oddly specific reports (e.g., pie chart by salutation) but you can't get hired/placed by a job board. All in all, I have the feeling they build feature after feature upon a poor or outdated tech architecture, and many things developed after are not cohesive, well-integrated, or intuitive to use. Through my interactions, I was left with the impression that their development team is several times smaller than it needs to tackle the real challenges and stay on top of things, let alone improve usability.

What do you dislike about JobAdder?

The platform offers next to none automation in an outdated and byzantine UI that ultimately fails to deliver the array of functions that were sold. The product is pretty fragmented with different features poorly integrated in the dashboard under a maze of menu options. Integrations don't always work as advertised because they don't maintain the same tech stack in all countries/servers.

What features is JobAdder currently missing?

The dev team seems overloaded managing an old architecture and keeping up with it, or it's poorly resourced. Regardless, the result is product that is no cohesive and where some functionalities are poorly integrated with the main product. This has been the most painful product I ever integrated with other services.

5 years customers

Easy to use product, support efficient when easy questions a bit less good when requires follow on more complicated questions. Add on integration can often be disappointing and not fully integrated which raise questioning on the value for money offering to customers. Price is double some of its competitor. Very recruiting focus and not enough CRM features compare to competitors
