Excellent insight and functions
Semrush is the best tool for researching competitors' websites. It has become the number one tool I rely on daily to analyze the market and understand how to improve my marketing campaigns, particularly for search and paid keywords. It is a little bit complex, to begin with, and also, it is not cheap, so if you are a start-up with a small budget, it is initially hard to justify but worth it. If you put effort into it, you get a lot out!

Excellent tool to help with SEO strategy
Overall SemRush has been super useful - honestly, I don't know how we've managed SEO w/o it! The only issue is with their Customer Service - from my experience, we had to wait between 1-2 days to get a response; Whatsapp is faster, but time restrictive (different timezones). They could definitely improve it.

What do you like best about Semrush?
The competitive analysis tools are detailed and informative. They are helpful to me in developing SEO and PPC strategy. I found them particularly helpful in determining a PPC and SEO competitive set in a data-driven way.Also, they have very good content available in their content marketing (webinars, blog posts, etc.)
What do you dislike about Semrush?
There's so many tools in the toolkit. It's more than I can handle...overwhelming. I am not confident I'm using the best tool for my task. I believe some reports appears to only provide data by month. If I want to see data for a whole year, I'd need to manually total them. I don't like that the competitive review tool is an add-on subscription that essentially doubles the monthly cost.

The Complete Digital Marketing Solution
I love SEMrush. I have been using SEMrush for all my campaigns from sizes ranging from local clients to Fortune 500 companies. Whether I need to do competitor research, keyword research, assess the value of my PPC target keywords or even just monitor keyword growth through the Projects feature, SEMrush is unbeatable. Beyond the level of quality of the software itself, the customer support has always been excellent. I often get questions from clients about the tool that the customer support team is always available to answer, which has been a huge help in the past. I have used nearly every SEO product under the sun at this point and I keep coming back to SEMrush. It's that good.

What do you like best about Semrush?
Basically all the data and research possibilities. Whether I use it for keyword research, to check domain statistics or find content ideas, the tool is fantastic for all the information it contains.
What do you dislike about Semrush?
The only thing I would like to see is the ability to merge two separate projects for the same domain into one project. Sometimes I have kept them separate to start for one reason or another and eventually want to merge them and keep the historical data but have been unable to.

Does a great job
There is so much in this tool it is hard to wrap your head around it all. The onboarding was excellent. As a newbie to this tool I know there is so much more I can get out of it but getting through what it has picked up from the technical SEO is keeping me busy for now. I have not had to use customer support beside the onboarding yet.

The variety and ability of each tool is really helpful to me. I love being able to stay within one tool and answer research, content and technical questions without skipping a beat.

The only hurdle I have encountered with the tool is user management. The invites being received is spotty at best and ultimately I have to reach out to customer support to ensure that all of the manager user functionality is available.

Fired our SEO team

This product helped me to help others
During the pandemic I transitioned out of a job. I began to freelance as an SEO specialist as I had done quite a lot of work in this field prior. I use SEM Rush because the insight I can achieve here helps to really help me plan the best strategy for my clients. I love the automated reports and being able to use this product to track competitors and build strategies to help clients improve their overall domain authority. I can't honestly imagine using another service. This feels pretty much like an industry standard to me. I am very thankful for this company.

What do you like best about Semrush?
Several tools which are easy to use and extremely informative - Site Audit, Position Tracking and Organic Rankings being 3 outstanding dashboards. I also cannot speak highly enough for the competitor analysis data I can pull through SEMRUSH.
What do you dislike about Semrush?
Price is high if you are only 'dipping your toe' into the digital landscape. I would also say the stats sometimes provided are not accurate. Organic traffic volumes and keyword difficulty being two.

Paid traffic is not always available. I hear this is due to SEMRUSH not being allowed to show competitor paid numbers, but this would be hugely beneficial. I would also like some tools like diib have giving you great action plans, best practice steps to take. SEMRUSH is great for giving you the data, but what to do next as a strategy and insights that should be undertaken would elevate it further.

Great SEO software

Very powerful tool
Very powerful tool, which gives a lot of insights about performance and also ideas for improvement and target keywords. There is a certain learning curve as there a so many functions and metrics provided. The only thing I miss is that the content marketing function is only availabe at higher plans. I would exchange this for other functions which are already available in the lower plans.

Great Tool for SEO and Keyword Research!
Overall a great tool that can really make a difference for your SEO and Google ads strategy - I have already experienced drastic changes in traffic and site health due to the measures they recommended. I do believe that it is on the expensive side, so for a small business like myself, it is hard to commit to these high fees in the long run.

SEM Rush, They Own Us --
We're setup in SEM rush for all of our sites and our competitors, and it's doing a good job of tracking our rankings and seeing how we're doing. It's a good product, though it's just quite expensive -- our largest software expense for SEO by far.

The Tape Measure in your SEO Toolbox
Like a tape measure, this tool has utility for most situations and should be a part of any SEO's toolkit. You'd be sort of lost without it. Not unlike some tape measures, there are complex features that not everyone will use but I'm grateful they are included. Also, both this software and a tape measure help you measure stuff, so that's a pretty cool little parallel I drew there. Do you get it? Intimidating at first glance, not always 100% accurate, and sometimes confusing, this software still is the one I always come back to and rely on throughout my years as an SEO. I've used others, and none of them have all of the little add-ons that I really appreciate SEMrush for. Great for beginner or advanced SEOs.

I like the huge amount of tools at your fingertips. Now that I've used them, I can't imagine not having them.
What do you dislike about Semrush?
It would be nice to have to connect a project's Google Analytics and Search Console account's only once, but I also see the reason why it has to be done the way it is now. Some people may have different accounts they want connected even in the same project. (This is a small gripe, because once they are connected they don't ask again.) I really like the helpful tooltips about "why this is important" or "what this means" and I'd like to see even more of that because everyone starts their SEO education at different levels.

Not a missing feature per say, but I really wish some of your graphs had a description that explained what exactly is going on in the graph. You have this for many of your tools but for example your market traffic benchmarking graph (I think its called Market Traffic vs selected domain trends) does not have a description of what is going on in the graph and it took me a very long time to determine that the x axis "market" was indicating the "selected domain trends" rather than the "market traffic" as indicated in the title. Very confusing, no?

How Semrush is better/different from its competitors?
I like that semrush has a wider toolset than many of its competitors. It's very useful having all these features under one roof unlike some of its competitors but my biggest concern with semrush is data accuracy and transparency of how you get your data so we can take into account or anticipate any short comings in our data analysis so we aren't making important marketing decisions based on data that is inaccurate or misleading.

Great Tool, but Steep Learning Curve
SEMrush is the known leader in all things SEO analysis. BUT it can be a bit daunting for new users. There are sooooo many features that it can be intimidating and most people find 1 or 2 things they like and stick to them, not venturing out to see what all the other features can do. Some may say this is a benefit of the tool, and they're right as well. As long as you actually get to fully understand how to use them.

A really great SEO resource

Daily keyword ranking updates and how intuitive it is to use the platform. Plus, being able to connect GA for seamless analytics.
What do you dislike about Semrush?
Could use some more refined analytics for users to really hone in on certain trends related to traffic (but this is mostly an issue related to GA that carries over to SEMRush.) The backlinks tool is a bit challenging to use as it primarily suggest competitors that we cannot possibly use for backlink outreach.

Honestly a great too from beginners to experts. Impressive
I've compared a few tools before starting my SEO journey and settled on SEMRUSH : simplicity of use, beginner friendly and great customer support. (Introductory 1-to-1 calls to help you use & discover the platform, that is a great plus). One slight "con" : The plateform could use some rewording/reorganisation in terms of tabs & sections. I always get confused with the tools. Despite not being an expert on SEO, the platform is quite easy to use, and very complete. That being said, I often feel like it's rather expensive given the use I make of it. I feel like there should be an intermediate plan to be able to use a few core functionalities for an affordable price. The regular plan & the guru plans are not fit for non-Seo experts who don't make the most of the platform. My most used features : Keyword search / Domain overview / My website audit. Final word : totally recommend Semrush.

Good tool but has its downsides
The top feature in SEMRush for me is the reporting. It is very easy to make and share reports and it has helped the team a lot. We also used the keyword and content tools quite often. Where it hasn't been as good is in terms of linkbuilding. In comparison to other tools, it is very slow in reporting on a new link. We also don't use the social media feature, preferring to use a tool specifically for that.

As mentioned, the reporting feature is the best. I feel SEMRush overall is not immediately intuitive but after a couple of hours navigating around, it becomes easier to use.
What do you dislike about Semrush?
Besides the link building functionality mentioned, I would also like the SEO checker to be updated. It would be nice to see, as in other tools, if content is over-saturated in keywords, where a keyword can be added to improve the content, etc.

I find it super helpful to be able to set up Projects and track certain clients progress whether it be the Site Audit, Position Tracking, Backlinks, etc. SEMrush has a super helpful project interface! I also really enjoy the competitive analysis tools. Between adding competitors to your projects, using the keyword gap analysis, and inserting competitor domains into the domain analysis tool the information is endless!
