In Conversation with Sam Matthews Co-Founder of SINC
How did the idea of building SINC come up?
The story is actually a little crazy. I was working as a filmmaker trying to film a documentary, when my co-founder Sam Dolbel came to me with an issue he was having tracking the hours of his construction staff. Initially, we had something as simple as an excel sheet in mind, but we decided to just go for it and make an app.
Tell us something about your product.
SINC is at its core a tool for streamlining the flow of information within a construction company, or similar blue collar company with hourly workers. This means everything from hours, tasks, notes, locations, and even chat. The idea is to get key information in the hands of the people who need it to run their company effectively.
Considering the pace at which the SaaS market is growing, what is the current growth of SINC like?
Recently, we’ve been back to growing at a 10-15% monthly rate which we think is exciting. Taking some time to focus on the development of some complex but high-value features of our product has really begun to pay off in terms of growth.
Are there any ideological principles that your company follows to build and maintain its brand value?
There is one really big one, and that’s transparency. We baked this into all aspects of our product from the beginning, because we know first hand how important that is to both the managers and employees of a company. We believe transparency leads to happier staff, which then leads to better and more productive workplaces.

Fast, effective and user friendly
Great! We've been using this for around 6 months now and it has proven to be a really effective management system for all. I can track clock in/out times, understand my staffs' scheduling needs and download timesheets for each staff member.
What do you like best about SINC Workforce?
Very simple to navigate, effective at time management tasks and set up for staff is simple too.

Nothing that I have used so far has been disliked by either myself or my staff

Easy time clock
It's been great to be able to track employee times and then get the weekly reports. I really dig using it. It's only been 8 months of it, but it has provided everything I really needed.
What do you like best about SINC Workforce?
The notifications of employees logging in and out. I also really like being able to have the weekly reports that I can then use for payroll.

Perfect time clock app for my business
Excellent! I would, and have, recommended this app to several other business owners. If you have a business where employees travel to different work sites, then this is a great app.

Great Time Clock App
I have been using Sinc for the past couple years for my small business and it's made my life super easy. It's very user-friendly and allows me to track my employees' hours as well as ensure that they are on-site when they are clocking in and out. Since my employees travel to various sites, Sinc makes it very easy when payroll time comes since it automatically gives totals for hours worked for each employee each pay period.
What do you like best about SINC Workforce?
- ease of use- GPS enabled clock-in/-out- summary of hours worked listed by employee- ability for admin to adjust hours, force clock-out, etc
What do you dislike about SINC Workforce?
- admin adjustments require a reason for editing each time. This makes sense for employees submitting edit requests, but as the administrator, I'm essentially documenting a reason for my own benefit, which seems unnecessary

Easy to learn and use
I have been using sinc to track work hours for two employees in a small rental management company. Sinc was easy to install and use on my employees iPhones. I could immediately access employee timesheets when running payroll and Sinc sent a pdf file to my email so I could keep a hard copy of each employees time sheet for the pay period. I would love to see them incorporate a payroll service so I could move from two apps to one.
