Not great for a bar
Tabby may be a fine system. However, transitioning from TouchBistro to it as the POS system in my new bar is a constant struggle with the owners. There is a complete lack of intuitive controls, and nothing is as simple to do as it should be compared to other systems. There are massive limitations with no workarounds, which destroy any workflow one may have established in a busy pub. Processes that take three taps in TouchBistro become a five-minute ordeal, with a great deal of praying involved. By then, food is sitting in the window, the beer head has disappeared, and you have a list of 20 drinks that your servers have been waiting on—all because you wanted to move a beer from one open bill to another. It’s basically what I would expect from a free beta version, but I don’t want to know what the setup cost.

What do you like best about tabby4win?
The name, when spoken with a thick Irish accent, admittedly makes everything sound better. Literally the only good thing about it.
What do you dislike about tabby4win?
Everything: Study the competition and why their apps work, then actually go to a busy bar and watch professionals work. Learn how to optimize and make the system more efficient and user-friendly for people at the height of their careers, who are on their fifth system and know what to expect and demand from a point of sale, to people who just started serving yesterday. Make it more user-friendly and easier to learn to the point that any staff member can teach a new hire how to do anything and everything within the app. Also, spend some money on training videos that actually teach you something; 40-second videos on YouTube that have you three taps from what you want to do without explaining the ten minutes previous on how to get to that screen are not only useless, but also incredibly dishonest by making the system seem easier than it is.

What features is tabby4win currently missing?
Almost too many to list, the ones that are in my cons section, as well as the new limitations I’m going to come across tomorrow. I could probably find a missing feature per day for the next month.
What other products like tabby4win have you used or evaluated?
Touchbistro for iPad is the most direct comparison. Absolutely stunning interface, as user friendly as Velcro and the easiest system to learn and teach people. I’ve also used pixel point and micros monitor systems.
How tabby4win is better/different from its competitors?
Worse in literally every way. It’s harder to use because of extra steps that shouldn’t need to be taken in every aspect of use
